Contemporary Dance Class - Students will develop an understanding based on traditional ballet principles while enriching and grounding their technique and artistic sensibility with the fusion of modern dance. Classes focus on healthy body imagery and alignment while encouraging organic movement quality, authenticity and the support of individual expression. This training encourages dancers to become more dynamic and self-confident. Students can learn to improve as versatile dancers by experiencing a vibrant and enjoyable dance class, appropriate for each dancer’s age group and designed to build up their foundation in contemporary dance.

Contemporary Levels

  • Junior Contemporary - Ages 8+
  • Int Contemporary - Ages 10+
  • Senior Contemporary - Ages 12+
  • Advanced Contemporary - Ages 14+
  • Adult Contemporary - Beginner & Intermediate

Xanthe Geeves - Principal

ARAD DDTS Diploma (Distinction), Bachelor of Dance, ARAD Solo Seal, Pilates Teaching Diploma
Xanthe Geeves was born in Sydney, Australia. She started studying classical ballet (RAD) at the age of four with Tanya Pearson and later with Jennifer Ham at Ballet Academy Northside, achieving the highest award of Solo Seal in 1998. She also studied Russian Character Dance, Modern Dance and Jazz Ballet. Xanthe Geeves performed extensively in the New South Wales education system in Modern Dance, representing Primary and High School in Selective Regional performance groups, Schools Spectacular and Rock Eisteddfods. Gregor Thieler - Principal

Bachelor of Dance, Former Soloist & Principal Dancer
Gregor Thieler was born in Berlin, Germany. He started dancing at the age of 8, receiving his State Diploma at the highest level of dance in Classical Ballet, Classical Variation, Pas de Deux, Modern Dance, Jazz Ballet, Improvisation and Spanish Dance from the Palucca School in Dresden, Germany in 2000. During his time at the Palucca School Gregor was able to work with many renowned German choreographers and master teachers, which later influenced his professional career significantly. Chloe Bayliss

Guest Teacher
On completion of her Diploma of Dance and Performance at the National College of Dance, Newcastle, Chloe began work on the ABC hit series “Dance Academy”, performing the featured role of “Young Natasha”. Chloe was invited to perform and study in USA, Connecticut, where Chloe performed principal and soloist roles in several productions like Nutcracker and Incontro choreographed by Xanthe Geeves Gregor Thieler. Chloe returned to Australia and began working as a dancer on Series 2 of “Dance Academy”. Shortly after, Chloe landed the lead role of NELL SAUNDERS in Ch 10’s new series ‘Reef Doctors’ to be aired in 2013. Chloe has recently finished a season with the Ensemble Theatre portraying ‘Lauren’ in CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION.…MORE
