We are proud of all our students who have been working hard in their classes this year. Every dancer looks forward to the opportunity to perform on a stage and show their family and friends their learnt skills and excerpts of their class work. This open day is an invitation for family and friends to witness the love of dance and wonderful progress of each student in a supportive performance environment on stage.

We would like to welcome Remy Rochester to our Fac

We would like to welcome Remy Rochester to our Faculty in 2024.

Remy is a fabulous teacher and contemporary dance artist from Sydney.
She will teach our Contemporary classes on Fridays at BAN and choreograph some exciting works for our students for our Winter Showcase on June 22.

Remy trained and performed at Sydney Dance Company and understudied with the main company for their works ‘[ab] intra’ and ‘Impermanence’.

She has recently performed with Legs On the Wall for ‘Hive of Industry’ at Sydney Biennale, Opera Australia for their works ’Aida’ and ‘Adriana Lecouvreur’, and Catapult Dance Company for their Regional NSW Tour of ‘Awkward’ (2024). Remy has danced in ‘Rhapsody’ and ‘Human Remains’ by Omer Backley-Astrachan for the New Annual Festival, ‘Slip Stream’ by Anton Projects, and ‘Deep Water’, which she created and performed in collaboration with Allie Graham and Sydney Art Quartet. She has also performed in Stephanie Lake’s ‘Colossus’ for Sydney Festival, Eliza Cooper’s ‘Bat Lake’ at Riverside Theatres, and Lina Buck & Belle Beasley’s ‘isn’t it always, always’ at Lake Macquarie Multi Arts Pavilion.

In 2022 Remy was awarded the prestigious Ian Potter Cultural Trust Grant to travel to Europe, where she learnt from Damien Jalet, Lotem Regev & Felix Landerer to study their individual movement languages. While overseas she also studied and performed repertoire from Crystal Pite, Akram Khan, Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

She is a 2023 recipient of the Activate Fellowship for emerging creators through Catapult Choreographic Hub, and is currently in creative development for new work, ‘LOVE ARENA’.
