It is typically softer and more fluid than jazz, and it allows more freedom and release than ballet. It is very appealing to dancers because lyrical choreography uses popular, commercial music, yet it still incorporates many modern dance principles that help dancers find release and dynamic in their bodies.

Alison Slater has been dancing since she was 5 years old, beginning her training at Collett Academy of Dance. Her passion for dance quickly became obvious seeing her dance in eisteddfods, HSC dance & drama (with an onstage call back) and performing in the Rock Eisteddfod for 6 years, receiving two lead roles. After high school, Alison then went on to train at Dance World Studios in Melbourne, where she studied Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Flamenco dance, Character, singing and acting. From a very early age Jason Winters has always been inspired by the “soundtrack” of life, pushing and pulling his mind and body in many directions. Studying classical piano, percussion, and Acting was the opening of many doors and the beginning of an insatiable appetite to explore the boundless world music and Theatre had to offer. Soon came the overwhelming need to express this musical arena through the physical form with training in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Yoga and Contemporary Dance, fueling his passion to create through Diversity of movement.Jason began to work professionally in every genre and medium available.
